The Last Church

Graham McNeill

My reading

On an almost unified Terra the priest Uriah Olathaire keeps the last open church while the new secular order stamps out religion. A night-time visitor named Revelation draws him into a long argument about faith, violence and human nature; when the guest's identity is revealed, a philosophical conversation becomes a tragic prologue to the Imperial Truth.
