My reading

The Soul Drinkers answer an ork invasion of Vanqualis, hoping to prove by deeds that their loyalty to humanity did not end with their exile. While Sarpedon fights the greenskins and the newly arrived Howling Griffons, Eumenes' coup ripens within the Chapter: some of the brothers want to throw off the old limits and take the road of Chaos. The Chapter's second war breaks an already small force, and Sarpedon's victory does not remove a rift whose consequences carry into the books that follow.
