Formal Prime: Gaunt’s early mission — books on the story line

In756.M41, the young commissar Ibram Gaunt serves with the Eighth Hyrkan during the final stage of Operation Redrake. An expedition beneath the Sangrel hive brings him to the fissure sealed by the Iron Snakes roughly five centuries earlier. This is an early episode in Gaunt’s own story, not yet an operation of the Tanith First.
