Josef: Cardinal Abernath’s fate — books on the story line

Josef Khoriv learns that his former mentor has been condemned and visits Cardinal Abernath on Bakka. The crisis of faith, Josef’s past and the account of a vision form one story. Covenant supplies the news and permits Abernath’s later Inquisitorial service; that does not establish that Covenant condemned him.
