Vulkan’s Recruitment and the Unification of the XVIII Legion — books on the story line

Vulkan’s Recruitment and the Unification of the XVIII Legion

Two connected stories from the beginning of Vulkan’s journey. Mercy of the Dragon interweaves his meeting with the Emperor on Nocturne and his separate first battle, observed by the Emperor and Ferrus Manus. Vulkan: Lord of Drakes follows preparations on Nocturne and the unification of the Terran and Nocturnean warriors of the XVIII Legion during the campaign around Antaeum in the Taras Division. These are distinct episodes, not one battle: the location of the short story’s first engagement is unknown and is not identified with Nocturne or Antaeum. The exact years are unestablished.
