The Word Bearers’ surprise attack on Calth, the first battles and their immediate aftermath: survivors’ escape, the opening underground struggle, Garro’s mission and the flagship pursuit. These perspectives may be read in parallel; reference works describe the campaign rather than adding chapters to a novel. The prelude, Oll Persson’s journey, the Word Bearers’ later story and the long underground war have their own events. The Shadow Crusade is a related theatre, not a required sequel to every Calth story.
