Before the Battle of Calth — books on the story line

The Ultramarines assemble for the coming campaign while the Word Bearers prepare a covert strike. The Shards of Erebus depicts the preparation of weapons, Hubris of Monarchia a story before the Legion musters, and The Underworld War Kaurtal’s failed initiation before the battle. These are related pre-Calth episodes, not one simultaneous event. Kaurtal’s surface pilgrimage seven years later remains a vision, not a confirmed future occurrence.
