The recruitment of Patience Kys — books on the story line

On destitute Sameter, the young Patience Kys hides her telekinesis and ability to anticipate people’s movements. When violence makes her secret lethally dangerous, Ravenor, pursuing heretics and the Cognitae, saves her and takes her into his retinue. This is Kys’s youth and recruitment before her service in the first Ravenor novel; the exact year and the interval before that novel are not established.
