The Investigation of the Black Ship Validus — books on the story line

Amendera Kendel and the Sisters of Silence search for the missing Black Ship Validus and encounter a collective psychic consciousness. This is an early episode in Kendel’s story, continued in Ghosts Speak Not, rather than an event in the defence of Terra. The warning of a possible future belongs to the story; it does not place the book in another era.
